Obama was required to register in July 1980 with Selective Service due to President Carter signing Proclamation 4771.

Obama refused to register.

And when the Defense Authorization Act of 1983 made registration a requirement for government student loans, Obama did not take out any more loans.

The man is a coward.

The names, not the contact information, will be provided to the presidential campaigns. The purpose is to be heard, not to do the bidding of any candidate. The names can benefit Obama as much as McCain if Obama wants to listen. The point is these are people who should not be taken for granted.

Earlier this year, I got an e-mail from Joe Lieberman’s campaign claiming that I had “requested” to be added back onto his list:

That was a total lie.

I assume that he was trying to build his e-mail list so he could sell contacts to the McCain campaign or some other organization. I didn’t want him to be able to earn even a cent from me.

So although I am curious about what Joe is mailing to his list, I didn’t opt in.
